Tutorial participation

Participating in tutorials is an important part of your uni experience. You will get more out of your tutorials if you are able to ask questions, discuss readings and respond to questions the tutor has asked you to consider. This comes naturally to some students but most of the time, it takes practice to actively participate in class. And of course, in order to participate in tutorials, you have to attend regularly!

There are also other ways to participate in your subjects. Most subjects now have an online presence and provide ways for you to interact online. You can take part in online discussions, post questions and email your tutors. Not all students like to actively engage in lots of class discussions but it is important to find ways to participate in your subject.

Select which of the following behaviours will help you to get the most out of your tutorials.
